Why this matters

Oda reuses a near-exact composition — a downward-looming wall of grotesque Neptunian faces over a small settlement/object at the bottom of frame — to stage the moral inversion of Shirahoshi’s Poseidon ability. The childhood splash (0625) is the power as uncontrolled catastrophe (the “could sink the world” half of Otohime’s warning); the 0647 splash is the same iconography re-shot as deliverance (the “change the world for the better” half). When a Poseidon/Sea-King beat recurs with the same vertical looming-faces framing, read it as a deliberate before/after pairing on the weapon’s dual nature — watch for it to recur a third time (e.g. when the power is named outright, or in any later Sea-King intervention). The plot-mechanic seed is tracked separately at Shirahoshi Unconsciously Summons The Neptunians Poseidon Legend; this entry records the visual echo.
