This is a textbook composition-inversion mirror, not a thematic rhyme. The structural unit is identical across both pages — a single full-figure Luffy, vertically centered, head thrown back, mouth wide in a scream, a radial onomatopoeia bursting around the body, the words “King of the Pirates” anchoring the caption — while every load-bearing value is flipped:

Oda spends Ch. 589’s p.18 quoting the Ch. 1 splash almost line-for-line so that p.19 can answer it: the identical pose that launched the dream is the pose that questions it. The mirror is the engine of the arc — Marineford’s grief is measured precisely against the founding triumph it deforms, and the recovery that follows (the “3D2Y” tattoo, the return) is staged as the climb back to the Ch. 1 pose.
Watch-for (the lesson): when a character’s founding declaration splash (full-figure, head-back scream, radial onomatopoeia, signature line) recurs, check whether Oda is re-staging it to invert it — the original triumph panel is frequently the blocking sheet for the despair panel drawn chapters or volumes later.
