The seed
Why this matters
Re-deploys the Ch. 18 Rubber Cannot Withstand Blades velocity-and-precision sub-axis (originally calibrated by the Ch. 35 chakram glance-off). Ch. 63 is the attacker-velocity mirror: when the rubber-attacker’s outgoing velocity exceeds the bladed-defender’s incoming cut-velocity, the rubber wins the velocity-trade.
The rule’s calibration extends:
- Defender-velocity axis: weak blades glance off rubber (Ch. 35 chakram); strong blades cut rubber (Ch. 18 Buggy-Ball / Ch. 50 Mihawk)
- Attacker-velocity axis (new in Ch. 63): when the rubber-attacker’s punch out-velocities the cape-spikes’ incoming cut, the rubber-fist passes through without taking cuts
Forward-payoff: every later Gear-tier punch-through-bladed-defense moment re-deploys this rule (Mr. 1 in Alabasta, Lucci’s tekkai at Enies Lobby, Pacifistas in Sabaody, Kaido’s scales in Wano). The Ch. 63 Bullet is the prototype.
