Why this matters

• Pattern match: the Buggy nose taboo. Oda’s previous arc-villain (Buggy, Chs. 8-20) had a body feature (the prosthetic-looking nose) foregrounded by being constantly talked about. Klahadore’s body feature is foregrounded by being constantly not shown. The technique is the same — visual attention via deliberate framing — applied in inverted modes.
• Pattern match: the Morgan axe-hand prop-tell. Morgan’s name itself was “Axe-Hand,” and the weapon-as-limb integration was his identifying feature. Klahadore is the next villain in the Oda lineup whose identification will be hand-mounted weaponry.
• Forward canon (acknowledge but do not anchor): Klahadore is canonically Captain Kuro of the Black Cat Pirates, whose signature weapons are cat claws (Nekomata Te-bukuro) — long-bladed gloves. The chapter is staging the reveal of these weapons by hiding the hands.
