The seed
The chapter does not state the size or shape of Kaya’s inheritance, but the mansion’s evident wealth (label-panel grand-estate rendering, large staff implied by “the guards” on page 12) makes the inheritance significant.
Predicted payoff: the arc’s true villain-reveal will exploit this exact structure. The butler-as-guardian position is the long-con; Kaya’s illness + isolation are the conditions under which the will can be executed in Klahadore’s favor. The arc’s coming inheritance-grab plot is structurally locked in by page 7’s exposition.
