The seed

The prison is shown as stacked themed hells, each worse than the last: Level 2 “Demonic Beast Floor,” Level 3 “Starvation Hell,” and Level 4 “Inferno Hell” radiating heat upward, with deeper levels below (Ch. 530 pp. 2, 7-9). The architecture itself is the gauntlet — a downward descent through escalating suffering that loads the structure of the whole arc (and the climb back out).

The payoff

(Forward — the full descent-and-re-ascent plays out beyond this window. Recorded as pending.)

Why this matters

Oda builds the arc’s spatial logic into the set itself: a vertical dungeon of escalating themed hells. Establishing the descending structure (and the deeper, unseen levels) up front is a Chekhov-explicit load for the breakout’s downward-then-upward shape.
