The seed

The Gorosei’s first on-page appearance: the five rendered together as one consolidated roster in their dim, ornate Mariejois chamber — one standing tall at the center, the rest seated around the table that holds Luffy’s WANTED poster. Enormous stylised DA-DO / OM!! SFX letterforms fill the negative space across the tops of both pages — entrance-thunder grammar. A single rectangular nameplate caption-card sits lower-right on p. 17 reading THE FIVE ELDERS / SUPREME LEADERS OF THE WORLD GOVERNMENT. They are immaculate, calm, suited — the apex of the world rendered as unremarkable elderly statesmen. The composition is the villain label-panel grammar deployed as a collective roster (full-figure bodies + corner nameplate + SFX backdrop), with every hint of their true nature withheld.

The payoff

Having disembarked onto Egghead, the five transform and cut loose — and Oda restages the 0233 collective-roster spread almost beat-for-beat, inverted. The same two-page spread now fields the same five as monstrous yokai beasts (Saturn → Gyuki, Mars → Itsumade, Warcury → Fengxi, Nusjuro → Bakotsu, Ju Peter → Sandworm; named one-by-one on p. 5’s label-cards) wreathed in black flames, rampaging over the rubble of Egghead and the toppled Pacifista. The giant SFX letterforms return in the same negative-space slot — ドォン!! / DA-DA DOOM!! — the entrance-thunder preserved verbatim. The lower-right nameplate of 0233 is now a collective banner caption spanning the spread in the same grey title-block letterforms: THE WORLD GOVERNMENT ELDERS — HIGHEST AUTHORITY OF FIVE. The calm suited statesmen of the debut are revealed as the calm-suited-statesmen-who-are-actually-monsters: same faction, same collective-nameplate spread grammar, the human shell peeled to the beast. This is the on-page “true nature” beat that pays off Five Elders True Nature (Saturn’s lone, unnamed monster form Ch. 1094 is now joined and named for all five).

The mirror (shared invariants)

1. Same five bodies, debut → true form — the suited elders of 0233 are literally the same faction whose beast-forms erupt at 1110. The human render is the redaction; the yokai-beast spread is the reveal.
2. Collective roster, not solo — both panels field the Gorosei as one consolidated apex unit across a two-page spread, not five separate coronations. The collective-nameplate cousin of the single-figure label-splash.
3. Collective nameplate caption-card — the lower-right THE FIVE ELDERS / SUPREME LEADERS OF THE WORLD GOVERNMENT card (0233) → the banner THE WORLD GOVERNMENT ELDERS / HIGHEST AUTHORITY OF FIVE (1110): the same collective nameplate slot, re-lettered for the form-reveal.

Per-member name-cards staged first — just as 1086 fractured the 0233 collective card into five individual name+Godhead cards (see Five Elders Named-Roster Reveal Restages The Antagonist Officer-Roster Label-Card Grammar), 1110 p. 5 stages a five-strip vertical run of per-member beast-form name-cards (GYUKI / ITSUMADE / FENGXI / BAKOTSU / SANDWORM, each beside the elder’s human-name caption and a DOOM!! SFX) before the collective beast-spread on pp. 6-7 — the same per-member → collective escalation, here on the form axis rather than the name axis.

Why this matters

This is the form-reveal axis of the Gorosei roster grammar — the sibling of the name-reveal axis (0233 collective nameplate → 1086 individual names). Where 1086 spent the names banked at 0233, 1110 spends the true forms: the same collective-nameplate two-page spread, re-lettered and re-bodied, so the page itself signals “the unremarkable old men you met 877 chapters ago were always these monsters.” It is the same panel-composition-quotation move Oda runs for a returning antagonist’s upgrade (Lucci’s leopard-form → awakening) and for a withheld-roster’s individuation (the Tobi Roppo) — here raised to the de facto rulers of the world and aimed at their biology.
