Why this matters
The Shogun Orochi’s dread of a legend tied to the dead daimyo Kozuki Oden’s castle is planted here as a live supernatural thread. The “eerie light” and the approaching “legend” point at a Kozuki revival the regime is desperate to suppress — a chekhov-explicit ghost-legend overlaying the Wano revenge plot (a fairy-tale overlay of a sort One Piece’s Wano arc leans on repeatedly). That Hawkins can weaponize the rumor to redirect Kaido — and that Orochi is so easily frightened by it — measures how much the regime fears the very legacy (Oden’s surviving heirs and scabbards) it believes it destroyed 20 years ago.
