Why this matters

The seed. Kureha, Ch. 139 p. 19, caption-narration over Chopper-held-aloft full-page panel: “He ate the Human-Human fruit… which enables him to do anything a human can do.” — first on-page naming of the Hito Hito no Mi in the series.

Why it might matter. Presented here as a Paramecia-like “anything a human can do” fruit, but Chopper’s forward-canon multi-form transformations (the Rumble-Ball Zoan-plasticity) re-classify it as a Zoan whose target-species is Human. The Hito Hito no Mi family-prefix becomes the umbrella for further entries — Model: Daibutsu (Sengoku) and the true name of Luffy’s fruit (Model: Nika) — making Chopper’s fruit the structural baseline of an entire family-prefix Zoan grammar that Oda will pay off ~900 chapters later.

Technique. name-etymology (the hito hito prefix encodes the family-axis); chekhov-explicit (a named-on-page Devil Fruit will inevitably re-appear); parallel-arc-structure (Chopper-as-the-Hito-Hito-baseline mirrors Luffy-as-the-Nika-payoff in eat-the-fruit, fight-as-the-fruit-incarnate, free-the-people register).
