Mr. 2 Bon Clay is revealed to be a prisoner inside Impel Down, recognizing his old Baroque Works comrades Buggy and Mr. 3 (Ch. 530 pp. 18-19, foreshadowed by the p. 1 title splash). Reassembling former Baroque Works members inside the prison — and re-introducing Bon Clay, who once turned friend to a Straw Hat at Alabasta — loads the breakout alliance and his future stand for Luffy.

Why this matters

Oda reassembles a defeated arc’s cast (Baroque Works) inside the new arc’s setting — and re-introduces the one member who already crossed from foe to friend (Bon Clay, Alabasta).
