The Swamp-Swamp Fruit turns the user’s body into a bottomless muddy swamp — “a muddy bottomless swamp!” / “my body is bottomless!” (Ch. 612 pp. 4-5). Victims who touch it sink in, and the more they struggle the faster they sink; the user can swallow and store people and goods inside the swamp indefinitely. Caribou uses it to capture and conceal trafficked mermaids. Although the power’s Logia-like body led on-page characters to gasp “He’s a Logia type?!” (Caribou’s crew Ch. 603), it is a Paramecia.

Power limits & weaknesses

- The bottomless mud is a containment/abduction tool more than a direct attack — Caribou uses it to swallow and store victims.
Lore & theories
- Naming on-page (Ch. 612): Caribou bursts from a barrel at Mermaid Inlet and names himself a Swamp-Swamp Fruit user, sinking the gathered mermaids into his mud to abduct them and sell each for ~70 million berries (pp. 3-5).
- The mud/swamp body was shown but unnamed earlier in the descent — Caribou turned to bog to swallow an attacker Ch. 603, and the crew inferred a “Logia type” Ch. 606; the fruit’s identity (Numa Numa no Mi) is first established here @0612.
- Ch. 652 pp. 10-13: Caribou deploys the Swamp-Swamp mud body (with a built-in Gatling gun) against Pekoms, but the mud/swamp containment fails to overcome Pekoms’s impervious turtle shell and Caribou is knocked out. Bystanders reaffirm his Logia-seeming nature (“Logia types that think they’re invincible don’t last long in the wild,” p. 13) — though the fruit is a Paramecia.
