Nagi Nagi no Mi
Paramecia · current: Corazon
Profile
A Paramecia whose user is a “Silentman” (無音人間 / Muon Ningen, lit. “Soundless Human”): they generate invisible, mobile soundproof barriers / silent zones — sound made inside cannot escape, and outside sound cannot enter (Ch. 764 p. 4). Corazon weaponizes it for covert conversations (sealing himself and young Law in a silent bubble) and to mask his own (genuine) clumsiness. The fruit’s name “Calm-Calm Fruit” is first printed on-page Ch. 764 p. 4.
User chain
| Order | User | How they acquired it | First use | Death/lost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Corazon | (eaten before the flashback — unshown) | Ch. 764 |
Power limits & weaknesses
- Standard Devil-Fruit weakness (seawater / sea-prism immobilization).
- The silent zone nullifies sound, not motion or sight — Corazon is still visible inside it.
Lore & theories
A covert-utility Paramecia ideally suited to an undercover agent. Etymology: 凪 (nagi, a Japanese kokuji = 風 ‘wind’ + 止 ‘stop’ → “the wind stops”) = a “calm/lull” at sea — the windless, soundless stillness that gives the 無音人間 (Muon Ningen, “Soundless Human” / VIZ “Silentman”) his theme. The power of silence is the perfect device for Corazon, whose whole cover is a feigned muteness and whose espionage depends on conversations no one can overhear (see frontmatter etymology).
