Name meaning
**Yarukiman Mangrove** (ヤルキマンマングローブ / *Yarukiman Manguroobu*) — a pun on **やる気満々 (*yaruki-manman*)**, the stock Japanese phrase meaning 'fully motivated / brimming with drive / totally raring to go,' fused with **mangrove** (the 'man-man' of *yaruki-manman* eliding into 'man-grove'). They are, literally, 'Motivated Trees' — fitting for giant striped mangroves whose roots claw all the way up from the ~30,000-ft seafloor to break the surface. The gag pays off on-page when Luffy hears the name and instantly wants to go (VIZ: *'They sound manly!'*), and thematically as the most determined, against-the-odds trees in the world. Descriptive coinage, not a foreshadow.

Structural lore — the giant mangrove that physically is Sabaody Archipelago, and the source of the resin used to coat ships for the dive to Fish-Man Island.
