- “Rob Lucci” = “steal the light” (Rob=steal Eng, Lucci=light Italian; Oda playfully claims he didn’t know but the etymology is operative)
- The “Brag Men” book Olvia’s people threw out in Vol 41 = the same book Nami was reading in Vol 13 — a worldwide collection of “tall tales” about Grand Line islands that only exists today because the Ohara scholars died protecting it 20 years ago. Oda explicitly invites the reader to “tell the truth behind the stories through the looking glass of Luffy’s adventures.” This is a load-bearing meta-statement: every Grand Line absurdity Luffy encounters retroactively validates an “exaggerated” passage from this book.

Q (Niku-oh): Which is faster, Captain Kuro’s “Shakushi” or CP9’s “Soru”? A: Got a surprising number of questions about this. Speedwise they are about the same. But when Kuro uses his trick, the speed is so great that he doesn’t even know who he’s attacking, but CP9 has complete control at the same speed. So if there were a competition, CP9 would be overwhelmingly stronger.
Q (Katsufumi Four): I tried writing “instrumental” on a test like you said and got it marked wrong. Why? A: The results are not the point. The real treasure here is your courage.
Chapter 402, Page 66 — Sogeking + Gatherine pining
Q (Mega King): My family is caught in the Sogeking trap! “I-must-have-Soge-King-or-I-will-die-itis”!! What’s the cure? Sogeking: “The Island of Snipers” is… within your heart…
Q (General Recycle): Gatherine-san from Volume 40 turned down Jabra. What kind of guys DOES she like? Does she have a boyfriend? A: The idol of Enies Lobby, Gatherine, has pined after one man all of this time. Her exact words when she turned down Jabra were: “I’m sorry, but I’m in love with Lucci-san!! Q (Refect): In class I learned “Rob” means “steal.” Then I searched and found “Lucci” means “light” in Italian. “Steal the light” — you named him that on purpose, right? A: …y… yeah, I-I did. You know me. I’m the guy who comes up with the deep meaningful names. In fact, “Rob Lucci” even means “steal the light”, or SO I HEAR. (← Had no idea)
Q (Sogeking-ko): My rotoscopic vision says Nami’s under-bust is 65, so her 95 bust = I cup! A: I received a lot of detailed answers from female readers. Just gonna report the most common result: Nami and Robin are I cups. Wow.
Chapter 408, Page 186 — THE BRAG MEN BOOK / OHARA REVEAL
Q (Sogequeen): The books being thrown away by Olvia’s group in panel 5, p. 170 Volume 41 — the book titled Brag Men — isn’t that the same as the one Nami’s reading on p. 142 of Volume 13?!
