- chekhov-explicit — the Ougi-tier is announced via name-card before the technique fires (page 17, panel 5). Oda is canonizing the Ougi-tier-exists-above-named-attack combat-vocabulary in the same chapter that he installs the first named-Ougi.
- name-etymology — Sanzen Sekai (三千世界) evokes Buddhist cosmology: the three-thousand worlds = a Buddhist trichiliocosm (the entire Buddhist universe). The cosmological-attack-naming convention installs — forward-payoff: many later Zoro attacks are named for non-Earthly cosmologies (Rashomon, Asura, Enma, King of Hell). The Three Thousand Worlds name is also the highest-magnitude-cosmological-name in the Zoro attack-vocabulary — every later cosmological-named Zoro attack scales within the Three Thousand Worlds frame.
- Name-etymology payoff Ch. 778: the convention fires as predicted. 三千世界 (Sanzen Sekai, ch-51 “Three Thousand Worlds”) is in fact the conventional Japanese contraction of 三千大千世界 (Sanzen Daisen Sekai) — the full Buddhist trichiliocosm = one billion small worlds (1,000³). Against Pica, Oda deploys the full term as the escalated build-up — 一大三千大千世界 Ichidai Sanzen Daisen Sekai, VIZ “Billion-fold World Trichiliocosm” — staged on the one-world unit 九山八海 (Kushan Hakkai, “nine mountains and eight seas” = the Sumeru world-system), then closes on the abbreviated 三千世界. Confirms both attack-names denote the same cosmological magnitude; the trichiliocosm is the ceiling, not a higher rung.
- parallel-arc-structure — the named-attack-with-name-card convention from Ch. 17 (Onigiri) scales to named-Ougi-with-name-card in Ch. 51. The compositional grammar is inherited; the tier is escalated.
What this seeds
- Asura form — Thriller Bark. The three-faced six-sword demon-form is the visual-escalation of the Three Thousand Worlds centrifugal-spin: the rotation is so fast Zoro appears as three Zoros at once.
- Wano-arc rematch of Three Thousand Worlds — Wano. Zoro performs Three Thousand Worlds with the Wado/Sandai Kitetsu/Enma combination as a graduation of the Ch. 51 technique.
- The Ougi-tier as combat-vocabulary tier — every later Zoro fight against a top-tier opponent will deploy an Ougi. The Ougi-fails-at-Mihawk-ceiling baseline is the structural reference for every later Ougi-scaling.
