Four Q&As, each forward-resonant:

1. Fish-Men are mammals + first Fish-Women mention. Q: When Arlong and the other Fish-Men have children, do they lay eggs like fish do? A: (Buzz) The Fish-Men are actually mammals, so they have kids the same way humans do. Of course, that’s the job of the Fish-Women.

2. Straw Hat heights chart. Q: I, like, totally wanna know the heights of the crew. That Nami is, like, soooo cute! A: The main five, eh? All right. Um, first of all, Gaimon’s height is… Just kidding. Okay, I’ll start with the shortest. Nami’s 5’6½, Luffy is 5’8, Usopp is 5’8½, Sanji is a little under 5’10, and Zolo is 5’10. So basically, they’re all like about the same height.

3. Hatchan vs Hachi name-etymology. Q: Of the Fish-Men, Hatchan is the cutest and funniest. So what I wonder is, how come his full name is Hatchan and his nickname is Hachi? (In Japanese, “-chan” is usually part of a nickname.) A: You know how Chinese people sometimes have Chan as a last name? It’s kind of the same thing.

4. Pirate-sash as functional weapon-holster. Q: What is that thing wrapped around the waists of Usopp and most of the pirates that appear in One Piece? A towel? Or are they trying to copy Zolo’s haramaki? A: You mean this? Yeah, they’re all wearing it, huh. But there’s no deep significance to it. It’s just a sash. It seems that pirates liked to wear them. But they used to stick pistols and knives in them, so they aren’t just for show.

Why this matters

Fish-Men taxonomy

First on-page mention of Fish-Women — pre-loads the Fish-Man Island arc’s mermaid-vs-fish-woman taxonomy (Fish-Women have legs/are mammalian; mermaids have tails). The chapter establishes the gendered-distinction-without-anatomy-shift for fish-men/-women — sex-dimorphism is mammalian-coded, not fish-coded.

First Oda-canonized physical-stature chart for the Straw Hats. Crew is roughly-equal-height — Nami is the shortest at 5’6½ (and called cute in the Q&A), the others are within ~3 inches of each other.
Matters for fight-staging across the series — Oda is officially marking the crew as roughly-eye-to-eye in composition. Forward-staging-pattern: most crew-vs-crew composition panels keep the Straw Hats at roughly-equal height.

Hatchan name-etymology

The -chan in Hatchan is not a Japanese diminutive but a fictional-family-name suffix (Oda’s Chinese-name analogy). The dual-name register (Hatchan full / Hachi nick) stays stable across the series.
Forward-resonance: the Sun Pirates / Fish-Man Island arcs will keep this naming-register stable.

Pirate-sash as functional weapon-holster

Every Straw-Hat-sash-prop reads forward as a concealed-weapon-mount, not just decoration. Zoro’s haramaki, Usopp’s sash, Sanji’s belt — all function as weapon-holsters by SBS-canon.
The chapter de-romanticizes the sash aesthetic — it is functional pirate-gear, not stylistic. The Ohara / Oda authorial-voice mode (not just for show) is the chapter’s SBS register.
