The seed
Sanji declines Luffy’s re-issued recruitment offer with a visible GRIN effect (Ch. 67 page 10, panel 1). The body-language inverts the verbal-message: the recruit is not refusing the captain, he is enjoying being asked. The grin is the chapter’s recruitment-pivot-tell — Oda’s standard deferred-yes visual register.
The payoff
Forward-tell: the Ch. 68 recruitment-resolution will land as YES, triggered by the chapter-end Zeff-Sanji blow-up (page 17) which functions as the push factor paralleling Luffy’s pull factor. The grin is the on-page evidence that the recruit’s internal answer is yes; the external answer is deferred-yes pending obstacle-resolution.
Why this matters
Pattern-candidate for later Straw-Hat recruitment-pivot-tells. The body-language-inverts-verbal-message device is a recurring Oda recruitment-grammar — the verbal no with the body-language yes signals that the next pressure-point will flip the verbal answer.
