Why this matters
The chapter is staging a two-axis structural-mirror:
- Spatial axis: Luffy stands on the same physical platform as Roger (Ch. 1 page 1).
- Causal axis: Luffy is to die by an executioner who was Roger’s apprentice (Buggy, per Ch. 19 flashback).
The mirror’s inversion-payoff is the structurally-required survival — the protagonist must defy the foundational-figure’s fate to inherit the title. Forward-pre-load: Ch. 100 delivers the Dragon-wind / lightning-strike resolution.
