Why this matters
The inference (flagged as conservative): Oda is using hypnotism as the
narrative excuse to give Luffy a new technique, and the in-world reading
is that belief-state is part of physical capability. This becomes a
through-line motif:
Usopp-as-Nami hypnosis at Arlong Park (Hatchi-hypnosis)
Enel-Luffy mantra-immunity at Skypiea (belief shields against Mantra)
Gear Second / Third / Fourth / Fifth as belief-state changes (especially

The Ch. 30 Gatling Gun debut is the first on-page instance of the
