Iron Cloud Eisen Dial Hardened-Cloud Weapon Debut
Status: pending · Technique: chekhov-explicit, prop-tell
The seed
This is an explicit Chekhov mechanic: the priest’s entire “Ordeal of Iron” combat rests on hardened cloud, and it pre-loads the swordsman-vs-iron confrontation — Zoro must cut it. Extends Dial-tech (after the Jet Dial / Yama’s reversed Dials) into a hard-material weapon class. See Dials Skypiean Sea-Shell Technology.
The payoff
Why this matters
A textbook chekhov-explicit / prop-tell: Oda has a character narrate the rules of a weapon (what it is, how it is made, how it triggers) in the same scene it is deployed, so the reader is fully briefed before the swordsman engages it. The whole point of an explicitly-explained gimmick is that it will be beaten in a satisfying, rule-respecting way.
