Why this matters
Vivi’s Grand-Line climate lecture (Ch. 132, pp. 6-7) is the first systematic on-page explanation of how Grand Line islands’ weather works. Functions as a Chekhov’s-worldbuilding install: the rule grounds the violent inter-island seas, the stable weather = land nearby navigation heuristic the crew immediately uses, and Nami’s later combat-grade weather-reading. Forward-canon, the model is taken to its logical extreme by Punk Hazard (a single island artificially split into fire and ice halves). The pattern — Oda installs a world-rule via explicit in-story tutorial chapters, then builds set-pieces that parody or stress-test it — recurs across the series.
