The seed
Ch. 67 stages a doctrine-relay loop across pages 5-8: Gin credits Luffy’s commit-yourself doctrine (page 5: “The kid taught me that!!”) — Sanji witnesses Gin’s renunciation (pages 2-5) — Sanji forwards the doctrine to Luffy (page 8: “That stuff seems foolish… and hesitations… You know, fear…”) — Luffy receives the doctrine back from his own teaching, mediated through an enemy-officer’s renunciation.
The payoff
The loop demonstrates the captain-doctrine-as-witness-conversion-vehicle mechanism: Luffy’s combat-doctrine has non-combat effect on Krieg’s lieutenant via witness, and the doctrine is strengthened by its return-trip through the conversion-witness.
Why this matters
The pattern-candidate predicts: future captain-doctrine-relay-loops will follow the same structure (captain-action → enemy-witness → recruit-relay → captain-receipt). Whitebeard’s family doctrine and Roger’s will-of-D doctrine likely follow this pattern at scale.
