The seed
Why it matters
The chapter installs the canonical anti-Fish-Man-Karate counter-tactic: don’t fight in the water. Combat-arena-relocation is the structural defeat-mechanism for the Fish-Man Karate Water-Power-Multiplier Doctrine. Sanji’s tactical pivot (absorbing-punishment-underwater long enough to retrieve Genzo, then relocating to the pavement for the kill) is the chapter’s load-bearing combat-grammar.
Forward-resonance
- Every later Straw-Hat-vs-fish-man combat-pair (Whole Cake Island coast, Wano coastal fights, etc.) re-keys to this Ch. 86 install. The get-them-out-of-the-water tactic is the canonical answer to fish-man-karate’s asymmetry.
- The doctrine is also the structural answer to why fish-men-pirate-crews colonize land-based bases — to compensate for the water-asymmetry their members enjoy, the home-base is built where the asymmetry is removed. Pre-loads the Arlong-Park-as-fragile-strategic-weakness combat-mechanic.
