The grudge is escalated by the choice of execution-site — Loguetown’s Roger-execution-platform is the most Buggy-grandiose escalation possible. Buggy’s past with Roger’s crew (Ch. 19 apprentice-flashback) makes the choice of Roger’s scaffold a deliberate grandiose-narcissist statement.
Buggy’s substitute-vengeance arc structure:
