Why this matters
The foster-family origin is canonized as a mutual-rescue event: Bell-mère’s decision to live is sourced to toddler-Nojiko carrying infant-Nami toward dying-Bell-mère. The chapter installs the three-character bond of mutual rescue as the family’s foundation. Plus: the chapter installs that Nami believed she was ‘found under a bridge’ her whole life — the truth has been withheld from her by Bell-mère, Nojiko, and Genzo collectively. The reveal-architecture: the chapter has Nami denounce the family first (Ch. 77 page 11-12 ‘we’re not related by blood’ / ‘I wish I’d been found by rich people’), then has Genzo deliver the bond-deeper-than-blood battlefield-rescue truth second. The reveal is the chapter’s emotional climax.
