Why it matters
The five-gate-cipher is the geographic-grammar that structures the entire Alubarna chase set-piece for the next ~10 chapters. The Vivi-decoy-squadron splits five Vivis among the five gates to overload the BW Officer-Agent ambush composition — the ambush is forced into a combinatorial which-decoy-is-the-real-target problem that’s mathematically defeated by the decoy-distribution math. The five-gate layout is also the defensive-architecture canonization for the Royal Guard’s wall-defense register (Chaka, p. 3, Defend the gates with your lives!!).
