In the burning castle a CP-0 (“Aegis Zero”) agent recognizes the former Whitebeard division commander Izo by name and declines to engage him despite his standing orders — “We never saw each other today, Izo… Until we meet again, another day…” — and Izo answers “No, CP0… don’t go yet,” wanting the encounter to continue (Ch. 1038 pp.6–7). The mutual recognition and the agent’s choice to spare a wanted ex-Whitebeard pirate imply a hidden shared past.
