• The Straw Hat crew will need a sniper. The recruitment-pattern thread Straw Hat Recruitment Pattern tracks each Straw Hat as introduced via signature-feat that predicts their eventual crew role. Usopp’s signature feat is fabrication / story-spinning, which is sniper-adjacent (precision + targeting + patient setup). His biological signature is his father’s profession. The chapter is telegraphing that Usopp will inherit Yasopp’s sniper role on a parallel Yonko-class crew (the Straw Hats).
• Etymology tell — Yasopp / Usopp. The two names are intentionally similar — Ya-soppu / U-soppu — establishing the genealogy through the name. The father’s name contains the son’s name.
