- The pirates-vs-country choice-axis is the structural moral engine of the Alabasta arc. Every Vivi-beat from this chapter forward tests this binary: when she cries for Luffy (p. 13), when she charges the Bananagator (pp. 15-17), when she races to Alubarna in later chapters — each is a re-test of the original Crocodile-framed binary.
