The seed

First on-page installation Ch. 92 page 5 — BWOING / WHA-BAM!!! — Luffy’s Gum-Gum Shield (deployed page 3) catches Arlong’s Shark Darts (deployed pages 3-4) and rebounds Arlong upward into the Arlong Park pagoda roof. Sanji aside: “HE BOUNCED BACK!!!” / “THAT TRICK’S NOT GONNA WORK!!” The chapter installs the rubber-as-velocity-rebound-medium combat-grammar — the rubber-body doesn’t just absorb velocity attacks; it can return them. Companion to the Ch. 65 Iterated-Impact Cracks Armor Combat-Grammar — both operationalize the rubber-body’s mechanical properties: iteration-degradation (Ch. 65) and velocity-rebound (Ch. 92).

Note: Arlong’s second Shark Darts (page 6) does connect — the chapter installs the named-technique-twice-with-different-outcomes combat-rhythm: rubber-rebounds-velocity-attacks works once, then the attacker adapts. Forward-pattern: Whisky Peak Mr. 5 explosion-rebound (Ch. 109), Marineford cannonball-rebound feats (Ch. 552+), every later Luffy-bounces-projectile-back beat.
