Why this matters
The Ch. 100 Going Merry full-ship cross-section diagram paratext (which noted no ship’s wheel / tiller-steering) is here operationally tested — the tiller breaks on first contact with a Grand-Line creature. Pre-loads later Merry-fragility beats (Enies Lobby tiller defense, etc.). The Merry is as fragile as the East-Blue ship it is at the Grand-Line tier — a Chekhov-explicit pre-load for the eventual Merry-end arc.
