The seed
The “killer samurai” from the Ch 655 distress call is revealed to be the dismembered Wano samurai’s own fighting upper body: “Then the killer samurai that guy was talking about is HIM?!” (p. 15). The “victims being cut down” are reframed — it was the samurai cutting through the centaurs to reach his goal, and the crew’s distress call came “from the guys you were dicing up” (p. 16).
The distress caller is being “killed by a samurai” who has “cut down” his people “one after the other” (Ch. 655 p. 5), and the crew’s exposition links samurai to Wano Punk Hazard before any samurai appears.
Why this matters
