Why it matters

This is the first on-page demonstration in the series that hypnosis can causally reshape biology (strength buff, full-body paralysis) and that the effect persists post-contact. Frames hypnosis as a high-tier ability class in the One Piece power-system — comparable to Devil Fruit abilities in scope, with a different acquisition channel (skill / training rather than fruit-consumption).

Mechanical upgrades from earlier on-page Django demonstrations:

• Ch 25/26: hypnosis works while Django is on-page swinging the chakram.
• Ch 30: “one, two, Django” count buffs the crew to super-strength while Django is on-page operating the chakram.
• Ch 36: the buff and the paralysis both persist past Django’s departure — first on-page evidence the command outlives the contact.

Anticipates:

• Later hypnotists in the series (e.g., the Hatchan/Long Ring Long Land era hypnotist, others) whose abilities operate at similar persistence-class.
• The general principle that non-DF abilities in One Piece include rare power-classes (hypnosis, Haki, Rokushiki, Life Return) that are not fruits but produce effects of comparable magnitude.
• The recovery-mechanism asymmetry on Black Cat officers: Butchie’s three on-arc recovery-mechanisms (blubber-absorbs-stroke Ch 33; deliberate-non-killing-cut Ch 35; hypnosis-buff-overrides-damage Ch 36) suggest that what keeps an officer up is itself a tracked combat-mechanic.
