The chapter installs the Going-Merry-sails-for-the-Grand-Line milestone — Ch. 23 (get a real pirate ship) + Ch. 1 (go to the Grand Line) are operationally combined for the first time.
Significance
- The five-Straw-Hat lineup sails for the Grand Line for the first time. Luffy alone was Grand-Line-bound from Ch. 1, but the five-member lineup is Grand-Line-bound as of this chapter.
- The East-Blue saga’s arc-locations are operationally closed — Foosha (Ch. 1), Alvida’s island (Ch. 2), Shells Town (Chs. 3-7), Orange Town (Chs. 9-21), Gaimon’s Island (Ch. 22), Syrup Village (Chs. 23-41), Baratie (Chs. 42-68), Cocoyasi / Arlong Park (Chs. 69-95).
