Why this matters
- Visual-mirror to Crocodile — Falafra carries the same hook-hand silhouette as Crocodile (Ch. 0166 visual debut pp. 12-15). The war’s victim (rebel-army veteran wounded protecting Koza) and the war’s architect (Crocodile, the warlord engineering the war) bear identical scars.
- Pre-loads the who scarred Crocodile mystery — forward-canon, Crocodile’s hook-hand and chest-scar are revealed to have been inflicted by Whitebeard. The Ch. 167 visual-mirror plants the hook-and-scar iconography on both sides of the conflict in the same chapter that introduces the wound on the innocent-veteran side.
- The rebel-army’s anti-recruitment exhibit — Falafra’s body is presented to Kappa as the moral-counter to civilian-conscription. The exhibit doesn’t work (Kappa: “that stuff… doesn’t scare me!!”) — installs the civilians-will-still-fight-even-knowing-the-cost register.
