The seed
The visual pair is deliberate:
- page 12 (broken-titan begging, with title-caption beneath)
- page 18 (predator-titan rising, no title-caption)
Same character, opposite postures, six pages apart. The title was caption-card before he was broken; the towering is what he is when fed.
The payoff
The recovery-betrayal beat will recur as Krieg’s signature throughout the arc. Every Krieg-recovery (food, rest, armor, surrender) is followed by a betrayal beat. The two-pose pair (broken-titan ↔ predator-titan) is the visual signature.
Why this matters
The pose-mirror device — same character, opposite postures, paired in the same chapter — is a recurring Oda visual-rhetoric device for villains who toggle between appeal and threat registers. Krieg is the first textbook instance of the pose-mirror toggle for an arc-villain. Pattern-naming candidate.
