The seed
Ch. 0173 introduces Rainbase as a lake-set casino-city. The Rain Dinners aquarium and bridge architecture imply an underground drainage/sluice system connecting the surface lake to the underground Bananagator-pit + sea-prism-cage chambers. This architectural connection is the load-bearing pre-load for the forward-canon rising-water death-trap finale: Crocodile floods the sea-prism cage by routing surface lake water down into the underground pit.
The payoff
Cashed across Ch. 0173-0176 as the Rain Dinners cage-chamber + Bananagator-aquarium + trapdoor-flood architecture is operationally executed against the Strawhats. See Cage-Floor Bananagator-Aquarium Sandora-River-Water-Flood Death-Trap Architecture, Rain Dinners Sea-Prism Trapdoor Cage Drop Reveal, and Rain Dinners Cage Water-Floods-Feeding-Area Bananagator Death-Trap Pre-Tell.
Why this matters
Oda pre-loads environmental kill-mechanisms in city introductions. The lake-on-which-Rainbase-sits is not just scene-setting — it’s the water-source for the cage-flood. Crocodile’s villain-architecture is co-designed with the city’s geography: the casino is a death-trap whose plumbing is the lake itself.
