The seed
Distinct from sister sub-patterns
- Distinct from the Ch. 59 I’ll sink this ship sub-pattern (which destroys the recruit’s external reason-to-stay on captain-side initiative, to give the recruit emotional permission to articulate her internal reason-to-leave).
- The Ch. 93 smash-the-room sub-pattern is the prison-mode sister-doctrine — the captain destroys the recruit’s external cage so the recruit can be physically liberated (not emotionally repositioned).
Predicted payoff
Forward-pattern: every later Luffy-destroys-the-cage-to-free-the-prisoner beat re-keys to this Ch. 93 first-installation:
- Robin’s CP9 sea-stone cuffs / sea-train demolition (Enies Lobby, Ch. 393+)
- Sanji’s Tea Party wedding-cake escape (Whole Cake, Ch. 862+)
- Tama’s smile-fruit at Wano (Ch. 911+)
- Bonney’s Egghead lab-cage (Ch. 1100+, recent-chapter)
- Even Marineford’s execution-platform (the demolition of the execution stage is the cage-mode register; though Ace is the prisoner, Luffy’s instinct is to destroy the structural-artefact first)
