Why this matters
Krieg names the logbook as the missing knowledge. The framing — survival on the Grand Line is a documented fact, route knowledge is a physical asset — is the in-text precursor to the Log Pose / Eternal Pose systems introduced in Ch. 105-106 and to the Road Poneglyph framework introduced later. The logbook is the Grand Line’s first navigational-document MacGuffin.
The seed predicts Krieg’s mistake: he believes the document is sufficient. The Grand Line will demonstrate that the document is necessary but not sufficient; survival also requires the captain (Zeff’s skill, not just Zeff’s logbook). Forward-prediction: Krieg, even with the logbook (or equivalent), will fail at his second Grand Line attempt — the document-without-the-captain is insufficient.
