Why this matters
Oda is establishing two modes of arc-finale closure here: public catharsis (the township knows; the Straw Hats are seen as heroes) vs. hidden victory (the township doesn’t know; the Straw Hats are seen as nobodies or even villains). The mode-choice is diagnostic of the arc’s moral structure — public-catharsis arcs are about liberating a township; hidden-victory arcs are about protecting a township’s worldview (Syrup Village’s “peace of mind”). Future-Claude should classify each arc-finale by mode and check whether the mode-choice predicts the arc’s downstream consequences (e.g., hidden-victory arcs leave more unresolved loose threads).
