Nami-Solo-Cover-Story

Solo cover-story for Nami running through the Syrup Village arc and into early Baratie. Oda’s standard format (Zoro got one through Orange Town; Nami gets one through Syrup Village). The cover-art register is quiet-mischief — Nami with bookish-navigator props (book, snail, Marine messenger-bird). A long-burn forward-tell for Nami’s later bookish-navigator identity (her maps, her log, her weather-reading) and the Marine messenger-bird visual register that becomes canon later (newscoo, Marine sigil-birds).

Per-chapter log

• Ch. 24 — Vol. 1 (debut): Nami sits cross-legged on the coils of an enormous defeated rock-pattern snake in a forest clearing, reading a book, with a tiny snail (likely Den-Den Mushi prototype) at her feet. Composition is quiet-victory — the snake is already defeated; the cover is the post-fight reading scene. Nami’s first solo cover splash in the series.
• Ch. 49 — Nami sits hugged from behind by a giant Marine-coded seagull (white feathers, MARINE-banded sailor cap, blue handkerchief at neck). Beside her: a red mailbox on a post with a tiny stylized fish/anchor symbol. Composition is quiet-mischief — Nami laughing-eyes-closed, the seagull wide-eyed and concerned.

Notes

• The Marine-coded seagull is a long-burn forward-tell for the Marine messenger-bird visual register that becomes canon later (the newscoo with its specific marine-sigil register, the Marine sigil-birds at Marineford).
• The cover-arc winds down with the Arlong-arc launch — Nami transitions from cover-story-protagonist to main-plot-protagonist as her backstory unlocks.
